Canopy Design

Sketches looking in more detail at the canopies for the site. How the water storage works etc. I am also keen to take the same design of the market stalls into the canopy designs.

Onsite Markets Design

Today im looking at resolving how the market pods will work in the space. What there relationships will be to other areas of the site, and how they will actually be constructed. I have started looking at a more organic for to the stalls, this is to be in contrast to the ridged formal lines of the existing Parliament house.

Looking at flexible options for the pods. Connecting series of pods to form new spaces.

Further exploration into the flexibility of the pods and how they will be assembled onsite.

Transit Center Design

I am starting to move into more resolved design ideas for the transit centre, below are some sketches showing different spaces and there interaction between each other. I have also started looking at a brief for the transit centre.

More spacial diagrams, and i have started looking at some of the materials for the site and transit centre. I am also exploring the idea of a tunnel leading from the transit centre into the Agroa. I want to give the impose the feeling that you are being compressed and then released into the open space and sunshine.

Sketches starting to look into some of the details for the internal of the transit centre. And the possibility of using curtain walling for the building.

Starting to look in more detail how the building will be constructed and some of the construction details for the job. 

Preliminary Market Pods

Today i looked at some ideas for the market place stalls. I want the stalls to be able to be stacked together to form different installations, to give the site some flexible layout options.

I have been thinking about allowing the stalls to have opening flaps so that one design can be used for multiple purposes. Maybe the flap opens to form a shade device? or maybe it opens to act as a counter?

Site Canopy Sketches

I've started doing some preliminary sketches of my ideas for the Canopies in the Agora.

These canopies will cover the stage area and also act as a water collector that can be used to water the vegetation on the site.  These sketches show some of my initial thoughts on forms for the actual built canopies.

Sketches exploring the possibility of the mesh canopy covering the majority of the site and entry into the transit centre.

Sketches showing the potential site layout and looking at how the terraced seating could have alcoves injected into them. These alcoves could provide interesting seating opportunities and provide shade for the visitors to the site.

A really quick sketch looking at how the sheets could possibly be laid out, and how many will be required for the final presentation.

Initial Design Ideas and Presentation planning

Today i started looking at some very basic sketches for the Agora.
I was looking at how i could incorporate a mesh canopy into the site.
I have started looking at how the canopy will engage with the site, and its buildings.

Just some notes on the drawings required and the timeframe to complete them. This will no doubt change but i think its good to work out how long the actual documentation process will take.
